Joel  shotwell - tenor/alto saxophones

Joel attended contemporary music school called McNally Smith Music Conservatory in Minneapolis Minnesota, where he studied saxophone performance and received his Applied Associates Degree in music performance, as well as an Artist Diploma. He spent a small amount of time after in Kansas City, studying and performing jazz. Joel later attended University of South Dakota studying saxophone with Dr. C.J. Kocher. He now is in his second year of teaching at Beresford High School. Shotwell also performs regularly with The Dakota Jazz Collective, Main Avenue Warehouse, The South Dakota Jazz Orchestra, The Jazz Diversity Project, Polyphase, The Sioux Falls Municipal Band and various other groups.
